My Chrome…

Chrome rules

Though Mozilla’s Firefox is being a swan song for the web developers, there is something more in chrome. In fact, its more than just a browser. I would certainly call it a Browser of innovation and initiation. Chrome has introduced wonderful features like tabbed browsing, incognito window that conceals the user’s on line identity, address bar customized with search engine , large browsing area, often visited and recently closed websites’ thumbnails, an elegant brand new look with a large list of themes for customization and lot more.

Though the features are inherited and copied by the other browsers, it has been digging the well deeper to come out with new features. There is something added to chrome these days in the name of “apps” that makes it cooler and smarter.

What can be this feature, “apps “? obviously, it hosts the chrome users with exiting, cool and amazing browser applications usable with chrome. By default the chrome comes out with fun-filled games “Entanglement” and “Poppit“; and the Web store that hosts thousands of interesting applications for sale and for free as well.

Hosting the amazements

The browser apps comes out in different flavors and tags that matches the users of all levels starting from the web surfers to application developers. My favorite apps are Google books hosting a gallery of books , eBuddy Web messenger multi login messenger for live, yahoo, gtalk, facebook and avi chats , Mixcloud that is re-thinking radio, let you listen to great radio shows, Podcasts and DJ mix sets on-demand. Upload and promote your own Cloudcas , csscan that Offers a quick overview of CSS properties to the element the mouse cursor is hovering, Themes for chromes cool look, SEO and Website analysis for web developers, 20 things i learned about browsers and web An interactive book about browsers and the web, Layers An elegant, fluid way to see what your friends are sharing on social networks and follow your favorite sites.

There are lot more to explore. Salutes to chrome!!!

Content management systems

Let me share some interesting facts on a technical piece  called CMS, Content management system. There are lot of questions that rolled around my mind before putting my hands into it, like is it all about reuse-ability? or a framework? or a customizable system? and bla bla. I would like to call CMS as a voluminous pack that hosts the contributions of huge group of users (usually open source) that allows us to reuse the existing features and customize it for our needs to build a system, usually refers to a website or a web application.

There are several content management systems available like Drupal, Joomla, word press, amilla for php ; JAPs, OpenCMS for java; umbraco for ASP.net; Slash, Scoop for perl etc. Their functionalities differ based on the programming languages and the applications.

They are advantageous with features like code reuse-ability, flexibility, simplicity, manageability etc and apart from these it also saves your time and brain spent on available features. They allow you to contribute to the CMS community which will be published after reviews for the use of others.

Its recommended to learn the languages before going into CMS’ since they abstracts various basic functionalities in that helps you at advanced levels of programming and customizing the applications.
